I love making our bread with my hands but there is something magic about knowing you can whip up a delicious loaf of homemade bread for your family with about 5 minutes of prep time!! In this recipe, I share how I grind my wheat fresh, so we are getting the freshest and most nutrient dense version of these grains.
4-4.5cupsof freshly milled wheat(I do 3 cups hard white; 1.5 cups hard red)
1tbspinstant yeast (slightly less than 1 Tbsp)
Instructions
Step 1: Add all of the ingredients into the bread machine pan in the order they are listed. After adding the flour, make a small "well" in the flour and add the instant yeast inside.
Step 2: Set your bread machine manually to follow these settings: Preheat: 18 minutes, knead – 20 minutes, rise 1 – 45 minutes, rise 2 – 23 minutes(if you are having issues with your loaf rising too high and then falling once it’s baked, reduce your rise 2 time. The weather can impact this), Rise 3 – off, bake – 64 minutes, keep warm – off
Step 3: Remove from bread machine, let cool and enjoy!
