Show Notes:
02:05 Josh’s Background
When Josh was 30 years old, he was barely paying the bills without a clear direction. His son had some major medical issues and it really shifted Josh’s perspective on his purpose. He dove into podcasts to learn about many different areas and find his next step. He found his passion in personal growth and began building his business.
08:05 Building a Belief Bridge
Josh shares an analogy to explain the concept of building the belief bridge for your clients. The process that Josh teaches serves as a hack to build credibility and help beginners be seen as experts. It’s also important to bridge the gap as you become more successful. Josh believes that the psychology of sales is the same as the psychology of leadership.
19:07 What They Want
The biggest mistake that people make is not thinking about talking to people based on what they want. The more experience you gain in your industry, it’s easy to get comfortable with the terminology, but forget that your customers may not understand it. It creates a disconnect. Josh recommends asking people one on one what they’re looking for in regards to your area of focus.
23:30 Limiting Beliefs
You need to know what your ideal customer is thinking and what limiting beliefs they have. And so few people actually do this! Josh addresses his audiences’ limiting beliefs before they even think of them. He uses their verbiage when outlining limiting beliefs in his offers.
29:39 Our Angle or Pivot
The angle helps people go from understanding what they want, why they want it and bring in the product or program without outlining it explicitly. Josh uses something outside of it as an example. He uses an analogy about the flat iron guy at a mall kiosk to explain this idea. Many people struggle with consistency and motivation because they don’t have a clear strategy, and they’re exhausted by their methods. Your message is unique to you.
39:45 The One Thing They Need
Everyone needs to have one thing in which all of the content points to as the one thing that people need. Your content should have different pieces that point to that thing. It’s what sets you apart from other people, and it’s in your language.
42:24 The Cocaine Pillars
This idea is about taking things and making them your own, but using exciting words to describe it. It doesn’t have to be an entirely new idea, but it needs to be formatted and explained in a way that is unique to you. It allows you to unlock your creativity.
49:45 Falling in Love with the Process
Focusing on the process not only allows you to ignite your joy, but also leads to results. Josh and I talk about how this perspective shift can lead to fresh motivation in your business. Josh reminds us how good content should always leave the audience wanting more. It’s all about creating magnetic messaging.
