I often get asked about how I “do it all” as a business owner and a mom. As we switch gears into a new season, and as the kids go back to school, I thought this would be a good time to chat about this. I share the plans I put in place to make sure the important things get done and dedicate my energy where it’s needed most.

The first step is releasing the expectation that you can do it all. I like to look at my priorities and then look at where I have to be, where I want to be and how other people can fill those gaps. Having structure around those priorities allows the important things to get done.

I share how I structure my weeks with homeschooling and work time. Another important piece of our family planning is a huge 12 month calendar that we have hanging on the wall. Everything that’s going on goes on the calendar. I tell a story about a time when we were double booked and how we handled that.

It really does take a village to raise kids. We have a support system of people who help us do the duties we need to do in life. I don’t feel guilty about letting some of that go. It’s a sanity saver.

Planning everything out and having help is the only way that we can live the life we want to live. So really evaluate where you’re spending your time and energy, and give yourself grace as you go into this new season.
